Jennifer Tavares is a dedicated and highly qualified professional with a diverse skill set. She excels as a nurse, counselor, special educator, trainer, and lecturer. With a compassionate and deeply committed approach, Jennifer possesses exceptional communication skills and extensive experience as a trainer.
Throughout her career, Jennifer has utilized her expertise to support and empower individuals of all ages, including adults, parents, teachers, children, and adolescents, in enhancing their mental health and resilience. She specializes in providing psychological counseling using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for adults, school-aged children, and adolescents facing a variety of challenges. Additionally, Jennifer conducts workshops on mental well-being, education, life skills, building resilience, learning disabilities, and ADHD for both adults and children.
Jennifer's passion lies in counseling children with learning disabilities and ADHD, as well as providing invaluable support to their parents. She also offers guidance and counseling to prospective adoptive parents, adoptive parents, and adopted children, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to the well-being of families.
Notably, Jennifer was a key member of the Core Team at St John’s Research Institute, where she contributed to the development of content and training for the Adolescence Education Program Plus – Building Wellbeing in Schools. This project, funded by UNFPA and implemented for the NVS under the NCERT from 2014 to 2018, aimed to promote mental health and well-being in educational settings. Jennifer also played a vital role in delivering the BEING - Becoming Empowered in Nursing Growth program, funded by the Indian Council for Medical Research, which reached students from 15 nursing colleges in Bangalore from January 2017 to 2019.
In 2017, Jennifer collaborated with the Resource Department at Bethany High School in Bangalore to establish a groundbreaking program tailored for children with learning difficulties and ADHD. This innovative initiative involved adapting the curriculum to meet the unique needs of these students, showcasing Jennifer's creativity and dedication to inclusive education.
